The Rhode Island Community Food Bank is a registered 501c(3) non-profit organization. Our tax identification number is 05-0395601.
88 percent of Food Bank expenses support our mission to acquire and distribute healthy food (approximately 10.6 million pounds per year) as well as our special programs: Kids Cafe (after-school meals for children in high-need areas), Community Kitchen (culinary job training for low-income and unemployed adults), and Healthy Habits (nutrition education for food pantry clients). Fundraising and administrative costs are just 12% of our total expenses. Government funding accounts for just 4% of the Food Bank’s revenue.
The following charts show our expenditures and public support/revenue for fiscal year 2018.
We simply could not accomplish our strategic mission without the generous support of businesses, organizations, foundations and individuals who recognize the importance of food assistance for Rhode Island’s most vulnerable citizens.
