Food Bank Member Agencies

The Food Bank is the central distribution hub for our state-wide network of 143 member agencies distributing healthy, nutritious food to people in need from Westerly to Woonsocket.

Membership is determined by program location, days and hours of operation, services needed in a given area and agency policies. At this time we are not able to bring on new pantries in areas where our member network already has coverage. Partnerships with our existing members may be suggested instead. We are currently seeking new food pantry members serving Woonsocket and Aquidneck Island, as well as agencies that fill other needs gaps throughout the state.

All member agencies meet the following criteria:

  • They are located in Rhode Island and designated as either charitable 501(c)(3)’s as determined by the IRS, or a religious organization.
  • Members listed on our Food Assistance List are community pantries and meal sites open to the public.
  • All food pantries, meal sites and shelters submit monthly statistical reports to the Food Bank.  This information helps us determine how many neighbors are accessing our community partners throughout the state each month.
  • All members operate out of facilities licensed by the RI Department of Health and carry food safety certifications.
  • All members operated a food assistance program for a minimum of three months before applying for membership, per Feeding America guidelines.

As members of the Food Bank, our agencies have access to:

  • Food and non-food products, ordered through our online system
  • Educational workshops and resources
  • Technical program assistance
  • Networking opportunities with peers

Applications are not available on our website. For questions or to schedule a membership pre-screening, please contact Hope Indeglia O’Brien, Director of Community Impact, 401-230-1704. If your organization does not meet membership criteria, or does not fill a gap in our current network, we can offer resources and referrals that may help.
