ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ACQUISITION AND DISTRIBUTION

The RI Community Food Bank is looking for an Assistant Director of Acquisition and Distribution whose focus will be on food procurement both purchases and donations, inventory management and distribution.  Must have very strong management experience and leadership skills.  Very high level computer, data management and analysis skills are essential.  High level communication skills including writing and facilitation required.

Department Management Skills

  1. Strong managerial and leadership skills, innovative, able to motivate and direct people, ability to coach and train individuals and teams, ability to manage difficult people
  2. Highly organized and process minded
  3. Ability to learn new skills and systems quickly and thoroughly
  4. Ability to evaluate and set work standards for the department
  5. High level skill with excel, word, powerpoint – ability to generate reports in various formats
  6. Ability to learn new database systems
  7. High level communication skills in all formats
  8. Ability to understand, review, update and write procedures, job descriptions, work plans, etc.
  9. Ability to understand and provide good customer service to other departments within the Food Bank and to our community partners and agencies
  10. Ability to identify, collect and analyze relevant data and information

Job Specific knowledge

  1. Knowledge of the Food Industry and purchasing
  2. Knowledge and understanding of local food sources and agriculture, farms, fishing industry
  3. Purchasing for federal nutrition programs
  4. Experience developing and managing budgets
  5. Inventory systems and management
  6. Receiving practices
  7. Warehouse management
  8. High level customer service practices
  9. Food safety and handling, including receipt and transportation of goods
  10. Experience working with diverse groups, the general public, vendors and contractors, etc.

SOCIAL SERVICES – CASE WORKER/PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The RI Community Food Bank is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented professional ideally with case management and/or program management experience.  Will work with the senior population as well as other social services organizations.

Must have excellent facilitation skills, a high proficiency with MS Windows and Office, and the ability to manage multiple projects with detail, communicate effectively, and work with diverse populations. Proven experience administering federal or state programs or grants is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish required.
