Financial Accountability

The Rhode Island Community Food Bank is a registered 501c(3) non-profit organization. Our tax identification number is 05-0395601.

Making Your Dollars Work for Hungry Families

The Food Bank spends 87 cents of every dollar donated on the acquisition and distribution of healthy food (approximately 9.5 million pounds per year) and on our special programs: Kids Cafe (after-school meals for children in high-need areas), Community Kitchen (culinary job training for low-income and unemployed adults), and Community Cooking (nutrition education for food pantry clients). Fundraising and administrative costs are just 13% of our total expenses. Government funding accounts for just 2% of the Food Bank’s revenue.

The following charts show our expenditures and and public support/revenue for fiscal year 2017.

We simply could not accomplish our strategic mission without the generous support of businesses, organizations, foundations and individuals who recognize the importance of food assistance for Rhode Island’s most vulnerable citizens.
