Volunteers Needed at the Food Bank

Food Bank volunteers include business professionals, students, seniors, civic groups and many others. Opportunities are available during business hours, Monday through Friday.

Sorting & Re-Pack: Volunteers are needed to sort through the food to determine its quality for consumption. Opportunities are available Monday-Thursday from 9am-12pm and 12-3pm and on Fridays from 9am-12pm.

Rhode Island Community Farms: Do you have a green thumb?  Even if you don't, the Rhode Island Community Farms need your help! The farms utilize volunteer help to plant and harvest fresh produce for the Food Bank to distribute to local families in need. If you would like to donate your time to this program, please contact the farms directly by visiting our Community Farm page. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Kids, you can get involved, too. Check out our Kids Page for ways you can help the Food Bank!

You may contact the Food Bank's Volunteer Manager, Kelly Nichols, by email or by phone at 401-942-6325 x256.

Community Service

Due to the growing interest in our volunteer program and a limited number of spots on our schedule, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank is no longer accepting court-ordered community service applicants. If you are in need of court ordered community service hours, please contact the Volunteer Center at Serve Rhode Island by visiting their website or by calling (401) 421-6547.

Individuals interested in gaining community service hours for their school, faith-based or civic organization should contact the Food Bank's Volunteer Manager, Kelly Nichols, by email.
