Projo: Opportunity Can Be Found in the Kitchen

Shawn O’Brien starts cooking early. He visits his 95-year-old grandmother, Ruth Lewis, in Apponaug, and makes her breakfast. He returns later in the day to make her dinner.

In between, he works on the fine points of the knife, the steak, the onion, the pasta, the cutting board, the range, the salad and those tough-to-get-a-hold-of things called life skills.

“Apparently, I didn’t know how to write a rèsumé,” he said.

O’Brien has gotten serious about something that he has been doing since he was a kid growing up in Warwick.
